Conversion

Referring to money conversion! In a taxi coming home from church....driving in what appeared to be very unfamiliar territory...the meter spinning rapidly ....me thinking that we are getting totally taken as the numbers are steadily increasing! I considered calling out berhenti (stop) and getting out of the cab wherever we were and hailing a new one! I wrote down the taxis number and the complaint hotline number....When we finally got back to the mission home I got out and didn't even say thank you....I wasn't going to thank him for charging us thirty dollars when the same ride to church had cost only three!! Ooooops!! I haven't mastered conversion of dollars to rupiahs!! He only charged us three! Need to learn to read those meters!

Saturday, March 30th

Dinner at Amigos in the Bellagio with Lisks and Healeys

Taxis are becoming a way of life

Took a taxi with Sister Healey on Thursday...took a taxi to dinner tonight...are taking a taxi to church in the morning, immigration on Monday, and to the airport on Tuesday. I try to talk to the drivers...most tend to ignore me :). Some try to converse with us....
It can only go uphill from here!

The Mission Home

It was such a welcome relief to be greeted at the airport by President and Sister Groeberg...they are wonderful! We had an absolutely delicious indonesian dinner with the Groebergs, Elder and Sister Lisk, and Elder and Sister Healey (two other senior purples...one the office couple and one a humanitarian service couple).

Our room is beautiful...we have a toilet...and we have a shower with hot water!! Heaven!

Taipei Taiwan Airport

Waiting to board our flight to Jakarta! It's 7:00 am on Monday....a loooong flight from LA to Taipei but we were able to "sleep" for the first eight hours. Good thing the MTC wears one out!

Just used the restroom before boarding our plane.....two toilets and two ceramic 'bowls' in the ground. Welcome to my new life 😊
